The ultimate goal of the steel wire heat treatment is to obtain a finished steel wire with high comprehensive mechanical properties. The steel wire is heated to a temperature below AC1, kept for a period of time and then cooled to room temperature. This is called tempering treatment. The purpose is to remove uneven stress. Increase the tensile strength, yield and elongation of the product, and increase its creep resistance. Tempering treatment is especially important in the hot place of the steel wire. Its types are divided into the following categories:

1. Low-temperature tempering: The temperature is 150-250 degrees. This low-temperature tempering is suitable for workpieces that require high hardness, high strength and wear resistance;

2. Intermediate temperature tempering: the temperature is 350-450 degrees, which is to ensure high yield strength and certain toughness, and it is necessary to obtain tempered troostite;

3. High temperature tempering: the temperature is 500-650 degrees, this method can obtain tempered sorbite, high temperature can eliminate the internal stress of quenching, so that the steel wire can obtain high-strength and high-toughness mechanical properties;

The purpose of steel wire heat treatment and tempering can increase the hardness and wear resistance of the workpiece, so as to extend the service life of the workpiece.
