In order to make the steel wire have better working characteristics and relatively long service life, some measures must be taken to prevent damage to the steel wire in its maintenance and use.
1. To properly transfer the measuring wire from the delivery reel to the drum, this is extremely important for the extension characteristics and working life of the wire. Improper transmission can easily lead to the reversal of the bending, making the steel wire more difficult to maintain, causing kinking or entanglement.
2. Avoid the wire being clamped by tools like pliers or hardened claws. When the wire is subjected to tension or bending stress, scratches or gouging on its surface can cause abnormal damage.
3. The wire kinking caused by uncontrolled slack should be avoided.
4. When the steel wire is lifted out of the well and wound on the drum, be sure to clean up the well fluid, mud and sand, etc. stuck on the steel wire, and also apply protective oil.
5. Do not pull the steel wire beyond its plastic limit.
6. Before starting to work or when prolonging the work cycle from time to time, cut off feet of steel wire from the drum and re-tie the knot, the purpose is to prevent the steel wire at the knot from breaking due to fatigue.
