Process performance of a material refers to the ability of a material to adapt to cold and hot working methods.

(I) Mechanical properties

Mechanical properties are the properties of metal materials under the action of external forces.

1. Strength: the ability of material to resist deformation and fracture under the action of external force (load). The load per unit area of a material is called stress.

2, yield point (released s) : the yield strength refers to the material in the process of stretching, the stress of the material reached a certain critical value, the load does not increase the deformation but continue to increase or produce 0.2%L. The unit is expressed in Newton /mm2 (N/mm2).

3. Tensile strength, also known as strength limit, refers to the maximum stress the material can bear before breaking. The unit is expressed in Newtons /mm2 (N/mm2).

4. Elongation (δ) : the percentage of the total elongation of the material after tensile fracture to the original distance length.

5. The maximum reduced area of A and the percentage of original section area after tensile fracture.

6. Hardness: refers to the ability of the material to resist the pressure of other harder objects on its surface. Commonly used hardness is measured according to its range of distributed hardness (HBS, HBW) and Rockwell hardness (HKA, HKB, HRC).

7. Impact toughness (Ak) : The ability of a material to resist impact loads, in Joules /cm2 (J/cm2).

(2) Process performance

The ability of a material to withstand various kinds of processing and handling.

8, casting performance: refers to whether the metal or alloy is suitable for casting some process performance, mainly including flow performance, full casting capacity; Shrinkage, the capacity of casting volume shrinkage during solidification; Segregation refers to chemical composition imbalance.

9, welding performance: refers to the metal materials through heating or heating and pressure welding method, welding two or more metal materials together, the interface can meet the purpose of use characteristics.

10. Performance of the headspace: it refers to the performance that the metal material can withstand the top forging without breaking.

11, cold bending performance: refers to the metal material at room temperature can withstand bending without breaking performance. The bending degree is generally expressed by the ratio of bending Angle α (outer Angle) or bending center diameter d to material thickness a. The larger a or the smaller d/a, the better the cold bending property of the material.

12. Stamping performance: the ability of metal materials to withstand stamping deformation without breaking. Stamping at room temperature is called cold stamping. Test method Cup process test was used to test.

13. Forging performance: The ability of metal materials to withstand plastic deformation without breaking in forging and pressing.

(3) Chemical properties

The resistance of a metal material to chemical or electrochemical reactions when brushed against the surrounding medium.

14, corrosion resistance: refers to the ability of metal materials to resist various media erosion.

15. Oxidation resistance: refers to the ability of metal materials to resist oxide skin at high temperature.
